Ashleigh Balmer

Founder/ Principle

Hi I'm Ashleigh!

At the age of three I put on my first dance shoes and no one has been able to get me out of them since! From festivals, competitions, shows, pantomimes, and exams I couldn't get enough. I knew from a young age I wanted to share my passion with the world and therefore was determined to educate myself on how to teach performing arts.

Throughout my childhood and 20's i have successfully completed exams in various styles of dance and drama as well as performed in numerous shows and performance throughout the UK and Europe.

After successfully completing a PGDE Teaching Qualification in Dance at Liverpool John Moores University as well as a Degree in Dance, Drama and Performing Arts at Edgehill University. I decided to open my own Dance Academy focusing on inclusivity, learning new skills, a love of music and fitness.

As well as my expansion of my Dance Academy my work also includes working in primary and secondary schools not only within Dance and Performance but includes writing programmes of work, delivery and co-delivery of social and communication groups as well as parent groups.  (Sefton and Liverpool Schools)

Miss Katie

Teacher

Hi my names miss Katie and I teach the Aughton classes at Ashleigh’s Dance academy. I began dancing at the age of 2 when my parents decided to put me into my first ever ballet lesson, as I grew older I expanded my skills and began training in various different styles of dance including commercial, contemporary, pointe work and musical theatre and I have never looked back. Throughout my childhood I was given the opportunity to perform in various dance shows, competitions and participate in various professional dance workshops. At the age of 13 I was given the incredible opportunity of being able to perform alongside my team on the Liverpool empire stage. Once completing my GCSEs I knew dance was my passion and decided to go to college to complete my Level 3 extended diploma in dance and choreography which lead me to receive a distinction*. I now love to spread my passion with children at Ashleigh’s dance academy to help them gain the experience and opportunities I have had throughout my childhood and hope they can develop a passion as big as mine.
